Vanguard loft

Interior fit-out of a model loft apartment in the Vanguard project.

The realization of a model loft apartment within the Vanguard project involved the complete bespoke production of interior elements, with a strong focus on detail, functionality, and a unified visual language throughout the space.

The interior is dominated by a high-gloss oak veneer sideboard with a total length of 3,400 mm, delivered as a single piece. The internal carcasses are made of oak veneer with a matte lacquer finish. The veneer grain is book-matched, including the top surface.

The project also features a solid oak table made from continuous stave panels, measuring 3,700 × 1,100 mm, with an inlaid marquetry made of burr veneer arranged in geometric patterns. Veneers of walnut and acacia were used, complemented by a special Antiscratch surface finish with moisture protection.

The bed headboard is composed of oak veneer panels layered in a predefined grain direction to form a strong design feature. It is installed as a single unit measuring 3,000 × 1,350 mm and weighing approximately 200 kg, wall-mounted and offset from the floor. The custom-made bed, also in oak veneer stained to match the other bespoke elements, features arched front and rear headboards and an integrated lift-up storage compartment.

The greatest technical challenge was the door system featuring a relief made from recycled plastic, a material with irregular thickness and structure. The relief is backlit with LED strips, requiring precise solutions for power supply and construction. From the interior side, the doors are lacquered and fitted with Buster + Punch hardware with a WC lock.

The entire project demanded a high level of craftsmanship, particularly in high-gloss finishes, the use of less readily available materials, and the transport and installation of large bespoke elements, ensuring flawless functionality and execution in every detail.
